Look at this video to see how you should be doing the D major scale.

This is your right hand. As you can see on the keyboard, you start the right hand major scale with the finger #1 to play the C and then you use finger 2 and 3 to play D and E. 

 

Then you cross UNDER and you play F G A B C with fingers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

This is your left hand. As you can see on the keyboard, you start the left hand major scale with the finger #5 to play the C and then you use finger 4, 3, 2, and 1 to play D E F and G. 

 

Then you cross over and you play A B C with fingers 3 2 and 1.
